Top Ten Scariest Villains

Villains!! Today I realized that a lot of my favorite books don’t have clear cut villains. I tend to enjoy books with more morally gray characters. Eventually though, I did manage to find ten that I found to be genuinely scary or disturbing.
Amarantha – A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Dolores Umbridge – Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling
Gilead – The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
Jack Torrance – The Shining by Stephen King
Keris Veturia – An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
The Nightmare Elf – Welcome to the Dark House by Laurie Faria Stolarz
President Snow – The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
Other Mother – Coraline by Neil Gaiman
Queen Levana – Cinder by Marissa Meyer
Saruman – The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkein
